Hello and welcome to this, the first of no doubt many such blogs from the mind of...well...me, really! If it concerns audio and variations thereof, you can be sure I’ll include it here. Today, I wanted to chat about audio books—I confess to never listening to one and yet, I find myself wanting to perfect the craft of narrating one. Hypocritical, some might say. But a lot of my voice-over colleagues around the world seem to a) be pretty good at it and b) get a fair bit of work doing it. I mean, I’ll never be Stephen Fry, but there’s no harm in trying, right? I read a fair bit when I can, whether that’s an online blog about some new piece of software or hardware I’ve got my eye on, to something a little more meaningful. One of my top phrases to use is “If it is to be, it’s up to me” - the line itself is taken from the excellent book by Thomas B. Smith, where he talks about how to develop the attitude of a winner and become a leader. Great if you want to physically pick up the paperback or even hardback book and read in quiet and solitude. But what about reading on a screen? It’s become a lot easier thanks to e-readers such as Kindle. With so many titles on the platform, you're sure to find something of interest and of course, no pages to physically turn! Click the image below to find out more.
